Osteopathy (postgraduate studies)

Osteopathy is a recognized medical profession in the world. In Poland, the profession of osteopathy is entered in the Polish Classification of Occupations and Specialties under no. 323010.

Osteopathy is a holistic science that deals with every aspect of the human body. Osteopath treats dysfunctions and disorders of the musculoskeletal system using manual techniques, which relax and stimulate soft tissues, nerves and joints, as well as all systems. It removes tensions within the connective tissue, improves circulation and breathing and information flow in the nervous system, strengthens the body’s defenses and accelerates its regeneration.

Osteopath uses functional, structural and imaging diagnostics, runs osteopathic therapy, performs therapeutic procedures that are classified in the International Classification of Medical Procedures ICD-9 No. 93.6. ICD-9

Osteopathic diagnostics is based on the examination of tissue mobility as an indicator of their functional state. Any non-physiological change in the scope and direction of tissue movement, and consequently a disruption of its proper tension, blood supply and neurological control, is for osteopathy a sign of its dysfunction and requires treatment. In the treatment process, osteopathy uses specialized manual techniques to normalize tissue mobility. What distinguishes osteopathy is the philosophy that assumes the functioning of all body organs as a self-regulating whole, striving for balance at all times. In other words, osteopathy does not heal the body but supports its self-healing.
